Prior to completing a Masters in Social Work [MSW] in 1983 [Adelphi University] I worked as a Dance Therapist in New York City (St. Vincent’s Hospital; Albert Einstein Medical Center; Rush Institute of Rehabilitative Medicine), New Hampshire (Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center Psychiatry Department) and Vermont (Orange County Mental Health Services]. Following graduate school, in the mid 1980s, I assumed the position of Case Manager, working with adults with chronic mental illness at Clara Martin Community Mental Health Center [the Orange County Mental Health Services] in Randolph, Vermont.
During the 1990s, I practiced collaboratively with primary care medical practitioners at the University of Vermont Medical Center and The Health Center in, respectively, Burlington and Plainfield, VT. I have worked with the elderly [Central Vermont Counsel on Aging], provided personal and academic counseling for college students [Norwich University, Northfield, VT and Champlain College, Burlington, VT], and with medically ill children and their families [Vermont Department of Health/Children with Special Health Needs program] between 1988 and 1999.
I have been in the practice of Clinical Social Work [Psychotherapy], working mainly with adults and adolescents, for 27 years. I was awarded the Diplomate in Clinical Social Work [DCSW] in 1995.
I am a member of The National Association of Social Workers.
